APS fleet news: on the way to sustainable development with Euro 6 vehicles

6 July 2021
The usage of motor transport has an adverse impact on ecology. Trucking companies can lower it through replenishment of their fleets with modern and eco-friendly vehicles.

APS follows the tendencies in the sphere of preservation of environment and does its best to make the business “greener”. A further step toward this direction is the purchase of Euro 6 fifth-wheel coupling tractor units.

Euro 6 is a brand-new standard in the system, regulating the requirements for the content of harmful substances in exhaust fume of motorcars. Their neutralization is reached due to an advanced engine and exhaust system, as well as high-quality fuel used. The degree of ecological compatibility of the standard has been demonstrably proved during an experiment conducted by Italian scientists: in 30 minutes in a closed space, 3 burning cigarettes emit higher concentration of harmful substances than the engine of a Euro 6 passenger car.

Numerous states actively facilitate the promotion of ecological initiatives in the transport sphere. For instance, in the Austrian state of Tyrol, since the beginning of 2021, passage on route E45 connecting Germany and Italy is only allowed for Euro 6 road trains. In that way, the use of vehicles of this class can accelerate the process of cargo delivery itself.

APS keeps up with the worldwide environmental tendencies. Eco-driving training, deliberate route planning, and now the replenishment of the fleet with the Euro 6 vehicles is our contribution to the realization of the program of sustainable development.
